Melody often came to my office just to look at books and generally spent time with me – quite often at the weekend she came to my house for food. When her second parent died her brother sat and cried and asked me to adopt her and take her to England.
I managed to get her into a school and a bed in the school hostel where she will also get regular meals.
Melody and her friend Jasmin - on my porch in Khorixas. These girls spent a lot of time at my house - they would help me prepare food and were always glad of something to eat. If a parcel had arrived from the UK we would look for clothes to fit them - things that we take for granted mean so much for children like this.
Supporters of NCCV can help girls like Melody stay in school and finish their education. Womens empowerment is such a big step towards combating the HIV/AIDS virus.
It’s because of Melody and thousands of others like her that I wanted to start this project - £10.00 a months can pay school fees, hostel fees and food for a child like Melody.
